Sheriff Rex Coffey and the Charles County Commissioners ask residents to keep in mind the following safety reminders to help boaters have a safe experience: · Always wear a lifejacket. · Have someone serve as a “lookout” when engaging in tubing, skiing, or wakeboarding activities. · Do not dive; in many places, the water is too shallow. · Drink water to prevent dehydration. · Follow all laws for operating boats; boat operators are prohibited from consuming alcohol. · Pay close attention to weather reports and take all warnings seriously. · Understand the increase in boat traffic may cause delays or other inconveniences.
